Trigger Point

Trigger Point

Trigger point injection (TPI) is a procedure used to treat myofascial pain or painful areas of muscle. When muscles do not fully relax, knots that can be felt beneath the skin, can form and irritate the nerves around them and cause referred pain, or pain that is felt in another part of the body. With this procedure, the trigger point deactivated and pain is relieved. Many times, with a short treatment course, sustained relief is possible.
